Hey there! We had such a great time celebrating our August Release with you last week! Today, Kay Miller is really soaking up the summer sun with a fabulous die-cut scene. Check it out below…

Let’s hear from Kay about her project…

As summer is winding down we are getting into the last days of summer vacation and the end of those sun-filled, fun-filled hours. I thought I would create a card that celebrated the end of summer with a sentiment that is encouraging to someone who might be heading back to school or perhaps starting their journey into the workplace.
I first used the Ray of Sunshine Cutting Plate and used it twice; once out of light blue card stock and once out of orange card stock. I punched out the top pieces of the blue one and added Score Tape to the backside and then inlaid the orange pieces back into the blue one. I then cut out a yellow circle and glued this into the center to create my sun.
I used the Build-a-Scene Rolling Waves dies and cut them out with three different shades of blue card stock. I layered these and glued them down to the Ray of Sunshine panel, about halfway up where it looked like the sun was setting on the water.
I then cut the Eventful – Pool Party die out with Poppyseed card stock and glued that along the bottom of my panel. I used the Build a Scene – Rolling Hills die to cut out a sandy beach, and glued that along the bottom just over the edge of my Pool Party die cut.
Using the Build a Scene – Rolling Clouds die, I cut some clouds out at an angle and stamped the sentiment from the Make it Amazing stamp set. I adhered the clouds to my panel with foam tape.
I then adhered the whole panel to an A2 top folded white card base. And, last but not least, I thought the sand looked a little plain, so I used my white gel pen to add some little dots. I think they look like tiny shells.

Thank you so much, Kay, for sharing your fun-in-the-sun card! Be sure to visit Kay on her blog, My Joyful Moments, for more of her wonderful work. Have a joyful day!
