TGIF, crafty friends! Today, Blog Team Designer Julia Stainton is taking us on a dreamy plane ride to help us head off into the weekend.

And now, let’s hear from Julia about her project…

All the big and beautiful summer clouds that keep drifting overhead
lately have got me reaching for my Build a Scene – Rolling Clouds die set. I wonder where they’ve been and were they are going.

time around I decided to try die cutting the Rolling Clouds from
vellum. I’ve been inspired by some gorgeous summer sunsets to create a
beautiful sponged background using Tumbled Glass Distress Ink and Worn
Lipstick Distress Ink. By layering the vellum clouds over this
background, you get a really soft and lovely look.

The sweet plane
is from the Plane Awesome Stamp and Die Combo Set. It’s adorable and I
love how you can die-cut it after it’s stamped. To keep the die in
place, I like to use a small piece of washi tape to hold the die over
the stamped image. The plane is colored in Copic Markers in blues and
pinkish reds to coordinate with the background.

The Taylored
Expressions Wedding Sequins are a great neutral mix that work on almost
every project. I used the white and clear sequins from the mix to add a
dreamy look to the flight.

I like to add stitching detail to
projects and it’s a great way to adhere vellum panels like the clouds.
I’ve also stitched a trail behind the cloud and around the sentiment to
add a little visual movement to the card design.

Let your creativity take flight with a little vellum and the Rolling Clouds dies.

Thanks so much, Julia, for sharing this darling card with us today! Be sure to check out Julia’s blog, Belle Papier to see more of her lovely projects. Have a joyful day!
