Good morning, crafty friends! I hope you had a wonderful weekend! I certainly didn’t expect to take a week off here on the blog last week, but it was a perfect storm of events with it being the last week of preschool for our younger daughter and the beginning of my annual ‘change of season’ head cold. It seems like I get one every single year just as the weather is starting to improve. I think I’m finally getting over the hump and now have the ability to form coherent sentences so I’m excited to be back here this week!
First things first, thank you for reading a piece of my heart on Mother’s Day. I received exactly what I was hoping for – encouragement and support! I read each and every one of your comments and emails and I’m so thankful to those who shared an uplifting word with me. I didn’t know if I would have the courage to tell our story, but I’m so glad that I did. I look forward to sharing more of Henry with you soon!
Today, I’m excited to introduce you to another member of our amazing staff! Since January, I’ve been featuring a different member of our staff every other month here on the TE Blog. I share a little bit about their job at TE, their life outside of TE, and their crafty journey (or lack thereof for some of them!). I’ve asked each of our staff members to select a specific product or occasion for which they’d like some crafty ideas, and then I’ve tasked our fabulous creative team to inspire their next project!
In January, I introduced you to Meredith, our shipping manager, and shared design team projects created to inspire birthday invitations for Meredith’s 8-year-old triplets! In case you missed it, you can read more about Meredith here! In March, I introduced you to Leslie, our Director of Customer Experience, and shared design team projects with a graduation theme as Leslie’s oldest daughter graduates high school. There’s still time to be inspired for your own last-minute grad projects, and you can read more about Leslie here!
This month I’m excited to introduce you to Amy H.! Amy’s official title is Operations Manager and Events Coordinator; she’s responsible for the day-to-day operations of our warehouse by making sure our catalog of over 2500 SKUs is in stock, placing product orders, receiving merchandise, overseeing the shipping process, and organizing the ever-changing lineup of products in our space that never seems big enough. As our Events Coordinator, she coordinates every detail of our annual Stamp Joy event as well as consumer events that we exhibit at around the country. In addition, she plays a large part in brainstorming new product ideas and funny sentiments for our stamp sets! Fun fact: she was the very first person we hired to work full-time at TE!
Outside of Taylored Expressions, Amy is a mom and wife. Her little guy turned 1 in January and we love keeping track of him as we glimpse him on her computer screen saver. Amy has several weddings and anniversaries coming up this summer and she’s hoping to get a few new ideas with a special request for some non-floral inspiration. It’s often tough to find non-floral wedding and anniversary cards, but our creative team delivered! Tune in all week so you don’t miss any of the inspiration! But first, I asked Amy what she likes best about working at TE, and here’s what she had to say:
We’re starting the week off with this gorgeous creation by Keia Shipp-Smith! Keia used the Carried Away Stamp and Die Combo in such a fresh, cool, and non-floral way! This was one of my favorite sets when it was first released several years ago and then honestly, I forgot about it. It’s been neglected in my collection for a while, but won’t be for much longer after seeing this amazing inspiration!
Keia paired the stamp and die combo with a sponged heart and then die cut the Loved Script from the scene and popped it back up within to create the popular Eclipse look that has been everywhere lately.
‘Tis the season for weddings and anniversaries so I hope you’ll gather some inspiration from the projects I’ll be sharing this week and use the ideas for your own celebrations this summer! Thanks for stopping by today!
