Good morning, crafty friends! I hope you had a wonderful weekend! As I mentioned last week, we were out of town for a quick family vacation to Minneapolis. The kids loved the rides at Mall of America and we enjoyed the Great Wolf Lodge water park too! It seems we picked a good weekend to be out of town as we got 10″ of rain on Saturday evening causing flooding throughout our town and extensive damage to many homes and businesses. We feel very fortunate to have avoided damage at home and at the TE shop. Thankfully our power stayed on and our sump pump was ready for a workout. Thank you to everyone who checked in on us over the weekend – I know there are many families in Ankeny who would appreciate your continued prayers as they work to clean up the mess.

This week is a little strange with the 4th of July holiday falling right in the middle of the week, but I thought I’d spice it up a bit by launching a new TE kit today – the Liquid Frisket Kit! When I told Jon about my plans for this kit his response was, “Liquid Friskies? What do you need cat food for in papercrafting?” Oh, Jon…. not Friskies… FRISKET! If you’re not familiar with Liquid Frisket it is a masking fluid that is often used when water coloring in order to resist areas of your project from the application of color. Check out the video below where I show you the contents of our Liquid Frisket kit and a how-to for using this fun product on your cards:

Here’s a closer look at the card that I shared during the video. I thought it would be fitting to kick off the month of July with a Christmas card as some of us (at least those who are skilled at working ahead!) begin to think about our holiday cards. All of the white portions on my background (the hill at the bottom and the falling snow) were created by using Liquid Frisket to resist the watercolor that I applied over the top.

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Stay tuned the rest of this week for more inspiration using our new Liquid Frisket kit! And if you’re here in the U.S., I hope you have fun mid-week 4th of July plans!
